BAKER v. EQUITY RESIDENTIAL MANAGEMENT, LLC

Thank you for visiting the website designed to provide notice of a pending class action lawsuit to members of current and former tenants who resided at the Walden Park apartment complex in Cambridge Massachusetts.

Please note that this class action pertains to issues with heat and hot water outages that occurred at the Walden Park complex.  There is another class action lawsuit for residents of all Equity apartment communities in Massachusetts relating to violations of Security Deposit laws, which you may have also received notice about. If you are a member of the class dealing with the Security Deposit issues, please visit that website at:

www.PhillipsvEquitySettlement.com

Please note that you must act now in that case to receive compensation, and you should act quickly as the deadline to file a claim in that case is rapidly approaching.

Why Have I Received Notice?

The simple answer to this question is that you have received notice because we are required by law to notify that this class action lawsuit is pending. There is, however, nothing for you to do at this time. Should we prevail in this lawsuit or reach settlement with Equity, you will likely receive another notice informing you of your rights and obligations to act at that time. Until then, you have no obligation to act.

Do I Need To Do Anything?

No. The purpose of the notice is to let you know that the case is pending. This may change at a future date. If you receive notice in the future, please make sure you review it carefully as you may have to take some action to receive compensation.

What Is This Case About?

The plaintiffs in this case, Rachelle Baker and Jason Dittmann, are former neighbors of yours who filed a lawsuit against Equity Residential Management, LLC and EQR-Walden Park, LLC (these are corporate names for the landlord who owns and manages the Walden Park apartment complex located at 205 and 225 Walden Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts). The lawsuit alleges that Equity failed to provide heat and hot water at the Walden Park complex during various dates from 2012 to 2014. You may have noticed that your water was shut off, or that your heat was not working, or you may recall receiving e-mails from Equity indicating that there were outages in these utilities. We have fully investigated these outages and are seeking compensation on your behalf as a result of these outages that occurred.

Do I Have A Lawyer In This Case?

The Court has appointed the law firms of Law Offices of Joshua N. Garick, P.C., Pastor Law Office, LLP, and Leonard Law Office, PC to represent you and the Class. These lawyers are called Class Counsel. You will not be charged for these lawyers. If you want to be represented by your own lawyer, you may hire one at your own expense.
